Teos

After a detour to avoid Greek airspace due to strikes and enduring a plane full of screaming kids... we got to watch the sun go down from our sunbeds. We walked to a little family restaurant where we enjoyed a view of the bay while savouring the best meatballs under a full moon; on a beautiful night.

Royal Sandringham

Jerry trekked across to Norfolk for the PSUK 10 Mile Road Race which attracted a record 529 entries. In warm bright conditions he enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, and managed just over 7 minute mile pace. The whole field took part in a minute’s applause to pay tribute to fallen officers Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes. The local TV cameras were there too. Jerry came 128th out of 397 total finishers.

Offa's Dyke

A spider sat down beside her:
On a super September day, we explored Saxon King Offa's impressive earthworks dating from the 8th Century, from Brockweir. On route we stopped at Lydney's Taurus Centre and were the second customers at the new chocolate shop where we enjoyed our first coffee and  'Danish' prepared and served by a genuine Dane. The wooded walk beside ancient slab drystone walls was wonderful, finishing up by the River Wye; with a run home past Tintern Abbey. On a brilliant day, we kept our top down all the way!

Gig Surfing

What an unexpected pleasant surprise, we go for a quiet surf, only to discover our next new watersport: It's like rowing but with surfing and shouting too! A very pleasant day in lumpy waves, with sessions on the falling tide and the push. Will demonstrated mastery of his red rocket and Tim took surfer of the day for some impressive drop-ins but mostly for not-even-nearly-hitting anyone else while ripping it up. It was Will's last weekend as a student before he becomes a ... well... student.

Two-Tone Tomato

In a harvest of yellow and traditional red tomatoes, one particular fruit just couldn't make up it's mind!

Glamping

Summer managed a last flourish and we managed a bit of 'glamping' (like camping but with beds) near Crantock. With small but rideable surf, sunny days and clear starry nights, we enjoyed fresh air living. A hot air balloon joined us!

We met up with Amanda who Claire hadn't seen for 30 years, Tim Mellors on shore and out back, plus Claud and Simo joined us for the weekend. We fitted in cream tea at The Headland hotel, watched gig racing, Fish and Chips at Fistral and picnics on the beach. Thanks everyone for a fantastic trip
