Steve provided opportunity and equipment for manly boy's stuff, on a sunny afternoon.

Porlock

We had a fantastic walk over Exmoor from Porlock, watching the Hunt, through the woods and with great sea views. Then we indulged in soup, mushrooms on toast, beautiful cakes and posh tea, before finishing up at Porlock Weir where Rio had a dip. Superb day - thanks S&C.

Lumberjacking

Steve only has 9 chainsaws, so to make a bit of a challenge, I said taking trees down with an axe would be way more fun. It certainly kept me warm. We then employed climbing tech and know-how in an awesome display of semi-professionalism to get a few more ash trees horizontal.

The Tivoli

We waited a while for the food but when it did arrive it was worth it. Meanwhile we caught up on hilarious goings-on with our lovely friends.

Sunny Sunday

A beautiful sunny day in the valley but we went up in the clouds, where it was slippy and wet. The light bouncing off the trees and throwing the geography into relief was awesome. We came down a river/path to claim hot chocolates. As ever, Tim out-climbed me on every incline.

Super Saturday

After a day with Grandma, Claud and Simo, involving a nice walk at Crickley and a relaxing afternoon; we headed to Worcester to meet up with Iain and Bev, ahead of Bev's gig at the Huntington Hall.

It's A Dog's FT Life

After an initial week finding out he wasn't actually in-charge, Rio has settled into the FT Life quite well. A five mile run proved further than he'd thought but he managed it and was soon back to his muddy, damp, inquisitive, scared of my own shadow self. Only 3 weeks to go!

Pipe and Slippers

Nige and Sarah took us out to celebrate 'retirement' and we enjoyed the best evening, reminiscing,  talking of future plans, trying on various appropriate presents for Jerry's time of life and having an absolutely brilliant meal. What a hoot! Thanks guys.

Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon

Despite heavy rain overnight, the remnants of the snow drifts on higher ground remained. Tim and I crunched our way through the compacted ice and meltwater streams across the Cotswold plateau. We ate all our chocs, took pictures for research purposes re. Tim's winter paintings and generally scared the horses.  The relaxing came later.

Shurdington Hill

Day 2: The Flying Turtinos took us to their local peak, where we enjoyed sole occupancy for 2 hours of daring-do. After eating all our snacks in the mountains, the hot soup back at basecamp was very welcome and delicious. No-one had to go to A&E and as ever, we took lots of pictures of ourselves!

Downhill

We went up the hill for some downhill action. Checkout the first snow movie for two years.

Big White Flakes

Big white flakes arrived to the usual chaos. Sledging planned for when it packs down a bit.

Top Wave

We put a star on a reasonably priced board: Mr Turtino refused to be deterred by a lost paddle or a snapped leash, as he ripped up all that The Ho! could throw at him. Mr Will peppered the day with long words he had learned at university; Mr Luke claimed wave of the day, as he messed about at the top of an overhead his father was also on. Top day chaps, particularly the full English en route. We created a board stack 'Bali Style':

New Year Walk

Sun! Hope 2013 stays like this! We wandered in the woods to ease  away the afterglow of a fun night seeing in the New Year.
