Cornwall

In heavy rain, on Monday we took our favourite daughter for a trip South. Fowey had just been knit-bombed so was kitted out in rakish woolen-ware. Truro was far too posh for such trifles. We dinnered at The Italian Kitchen in Hayle before a walk to the sea. For Tuesday we lined up Marazion, Newlyn and then St Ives in the evening where we ate overlooking the harbour. A seal performed beneath us.
On Wednesday we met up with Chris, Danutia, Jamie and Sophie for lunch at Gylli Beach. Later we secured pasties and had a walk along the beach at Godrevy. By now we had got used to the cloud cover. It must be lovely in the summer!
On Thursday, after visiting Porthtowan we met up with Tim at Newquay. Hannah and Jerry enjoyed a couple of hours in the waves in lovely sunshine; before the rain started up again for the trip back to Taunton to see grandparents (especially Ray in hospital).

26 Years
With plenty to celebrate including 26 years of married life we gathered up the family, Tom and Georgia for dinner at The Tivoli. We enjoyed a well-behaved and sociable anniversary evening.

Undulations
Depressed by overcast conditions, Simo and I packed up our troubles in our old board bags and smiled smiled smiled all the way to the seaside. Thursday yielded clean and chest high waves with which we 'filled our boots'; Friday was a more messy waist-high affair and after second breakfast we even put our shorties on. Three and a half hours of mega-wavecounts on both days produced three and a half minutes of 'Simo-cam' magic. Be impressed.

Claire's Birthday
After presents and to enjoy best the pleasure of her lovely family, Claire selected posh drinks and cake in upmarket Montpellier, before Stir Fry and football (possibly not picked by her) but indulged in none-the-less.
